Why Be a Christian?
In the beginning God created everything, and it was good.
(Gen 1:10) His ultimate desire was and is to live and walk
with His creation. Man, however, chose to sin and that sin
separates us from God. (Isa 59:2) Even with our choice
to sin, God still loves us and wants to have a relationship with
us. God himself can't be near sin, but He came to earth to teach us how to have a personal relationship with Him. He did all of this through Jesus, His son. Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins, and that's the Good News we bring to you!
He can take your sins away too!
What You Need to Know!
Becoming a Christian is not becoming part of a club! Being a Christian is something that's free to everyone. God has given it to us free of charge, and it's offered to you as well. There's absolutely nothing you can do to earn it! It's a gift, all you have to do is accept it!
Know that God loves you! No matter what has happened to you or what you have done with your life, God loves you!
John 15:13-14 - The ultimate love is to lay down your life for a friend.
John 3:16 - God loves you so much He sent His son to die for you.
Know that you have sinned! You're not alone though, we all do things that make God unhappy.
Romans 3:23-24 - We all sin and fall short of what God wants.
Turn your life around! You have to change the way you live your life.
Acts 2:38 - You know what you're doing wrong, STOP IT!
Confess Jesus is Lord of your life, and that he truly is the son of God.
Romans 10:8-10 - Salvation comes from Jesus Christ.
Be Baptized into Christ!
Matthew 28:18-20 - Jesus commands it.
1 Peter 3:21 - It is the only way you can be saved.
Live your life for Him.
Revelation 2:10 - if you do you will receive your reward.
Study God's word every day.
2 Timothy 2:15 - you can't be ashamed of His work.
1 Peter 3:15-16 - you have to be ready to answer people's questions.
